“Northbound”, 2025

A reflective piece written after travelling by motorbike from Taghazout in southern Morocco to Tangier in the north. Riding exposed me to the strangeness of movement without barriers: able to touch the landscape, smell it, taste it, and yet pass through it at speed. The journey revealed Morocco’s shifting terrain, from the arid southern deserts to the more humid, green north. Passing the Safiec power station introduced a jarring contrast, foregrounding environmental degradation and prompting a deeper interest in investigating Morocco’s climate crisis through documentary. Writing accompanied by my film photography.

“Two Sides of The Same Coin”, 2025

This short fiction film was made by a small team of five. We took inspiration from documentary-style filmmakers like Andrea Arnold, alongside the childlike, exploratory perspective found in Lynne Ramsay’s Ratcatcher. My role was production-focused, shaping spaces that deliberately contrast with the protagonist, Jack, to suggest two colliding worlds and explore how environment can shape a journey toward selfhood. I was also involved in the editing process, helping shape the film’s rhythm and perspective.

An Analysis of “Prayers For The Stolen” (Maria Huezo), 2023

A reflection upon Maria Huezo’s 2021 film. Shortly after my trip to Guerrero, a state off Mexico’s Pacific Coast, in 2021, I was told about the child trafficking epidemic in Mexico, which is an especially pressing problem in Guerrero. This conversation encouraged me to research and document the prevalence of this issue through the lens of Huezo’s fiction film, which explores the coming of age of three girls in Guerrero.

Imagery for “Lunaria”, 2025

A photography project for Deborah Bain - a Somerset-based artist who creates instillations with flowers and foliage. My intention was to document Bain’s artistry through a new lens - putting her at the focus, rather than centring her final outcome. I wanted to capture her focus and calmness as she produced an installation in a shop window.

“The Transformative Potential of Nomadic Journeying in New-Argentine Cinema” - Chapter Three

I chose this chapter of my dissertation because it aligns closely with an area of wildlife documentary, I’m keen to explore further on this course: why species migrate. The dissertation grew from my own experiences of travel and being untethered to one place, and an awareness of how movement through space has shaped my identity, often emerging from periods of personal difficulty. From these experiences, I began to think about migration as a narrative framework, examining how physical movement shapes character arcs in film—specifically through representations of people displaced by the Argentine dictatorship.
